15. Why we put you in control of publishing content
Once in a blue moon we’ll get an email asking us why we don’t actually post content for our members.
There’s certainly some services out there that do that sort of thing, but it’s not the sort of thing we believe in.
Here’s why content marketing shouldn’t be done in a one-size-fits-all, cookie-cutter approach:
- No two agents’ personalities are the same.
- Everyone’s audience is different.
- The type of business and clients you’re looking for are different than other agents.
For those reasons, it’s best to put the control in your hands.
You create the tone of your messaging…
- Do you want to share more entertaining / humorous content?
- Or, do you want to be seen as more resourceful and / or authoritative?
- Are you focusing on buyers, or sellers?
That’s the problem with all those auto-post services — the “marketing” they do on your behalf is so generic and watered down (it has to be in order to appeal to everybody) that it lacks any real character or “punch”.
And if there’s one thing we’ve learned about marketing, it’s this: If you try to speak to everyone, you’ll end up being heard by no one.
For those reasons, we put YOU in total control of what (and when) to post.
Here's what to do
Scroll though the members area, which you’ve probably already done by now. But this time take notice of the different audiences our content speaks to. Some of it is geared towards buyers, some towards sellers, and some of it is more general in nature.
- Also notice the tone. Our content runs the gamut. Are you sarcastic by nature? Sassy? Or are you more conservative? Do you want to entertain your audience? Or rather serve as a source of information? It’s all there. :)
