9. Engage your database with a punch of personality (Part 2 - Email templates)
Earlier in this series we talked about articles. Articles are written in a way to speak to many people at once, to people who already know you, and also to people who don’t really know you that well.
Email templates, on the other hand, are a little more intimate. They’re written in first-person. They speak directly to your reader, almost as if you are writing it directly to that person, for their eyes only.
There are different types of email templates you can choose from:
We have email templates for most Holidays and other “special” days that come up each month. Not your basic “Merry Christmas”, “Happy 4th of July” templates. They go a little bit deeper. We always try to tastefully tie in a real estate lesson or tidbit.
There are also many general templates, great for any day, week, or month of the year.
We also have email series templates. These are great for automated drip campaigns.
The series templates are geared toward specific types of readers. For example: people with expired listings, first-time buyers, people you met at an open house, etc. Here's a few examples...
Post-closing follow-up series (View here)
Ever struggle to stay in contact with a seller after they closed on a house? We’ve got you covered for the first year. One per month, up to their first anniversary!
First-time buyer series (View here)
This one is awesome to use with a few articles we have. Run ads that lead to the article. Then, the article leads into them opting in for this 9-part series that leads them to working with you to buy their first home.
Open house follow-up series (View here)
Great one to use to get people to sign in at your open house. If they sign in, they get this informative 7-part series of emails.
Requested CMA series (View here)
Once someone requests a CMA...what next? Well, you do a CMA of course. But, this series walks you, and the client, from initial contact to way beyond just doing the CMA. Ideally, all the way to listing their house for sale.
And we’re adding more on an ongoing basis.
All of our email templates are written in a way for you to:
- Stay in touch with your email list / database.
- Grow your list and / or database!
- Create a new list / database if you don’t have one yet.
Too many agents are sending out cookie-cutter, boring email templates.
Our templates are the exact opposite! They get results!
Here's what to do
- Visit the “Email and Letters” section in the member’s site.
- Now, spend a little time browsing through them. (Notice on the left hand side that you can hop to the specific month you want to find an email for, or over to “general” and “series” templates.)
- Choose an email to send.
- Copy and paste the email subject and body into whatever program you send your emails from.
Pro tip #1: You can tweak and play around with the words if something doesn’t sound exactly like the way you’d say it. However, there’s a lot of copywriting science behind what we write. So, try to maintain the structure of each piece. It’s all written with reason behind it.
- Pro tip #2: You can use these templates (even series templates) for more than just emails. Lots of members have success sending them as snail mail and / or as posts on their social accounts.
