8. How to get leads from the content you share
Today’s email is longer than most, but it covers a fundamental topic, generating leads for your business.
There are a few distinct ways to potentially generate leads from Inner Circle content.
We say “potentially” as we’re not explicitly in the selling leads business. We're sure you already realize that. We’re more about using wit and levity for top-of-mind awareness and branding yourself as a fun-yet-professional agent. You can think us as more of a “brand gen” service with leads as a bonus.
The goal with today’s email is to make sure you don’t overlook the ways our members are actually snagging leads from our content.
Here’s everything you need to know:
METHOD #1: Generating CMA leads from articles
One big reason the general public loves Zillow is because they’re curious what their home or another home’s value is!
Of course, we all know they’d get a heck of a lot more accuracy if they asked you what those homes are worth. This is why we built a CMA intake form on your blog site, it offers a way for them to ask.
Once you turn it on, it will be visible at the top of each article you share. You can also link people to this CMA form directly. Once they submit the form, our system will email you their information and the info they submitted to you can reply back to them.
(See for specific instructions on setting this up.)
METHOD #2: Using Booklets as lead magnets in your articles
Yesterday you learned all about our Booklets (which many members LOVE, so if you missed that email, I highly suggest going back and reading it!).
When you share an article, you can add a section that teases your readers with a free downloadable copy of any Booklet you choose (once you’ve edited and finalized it).
They’ll submit their info, and in return they’ll be emailed a copy of said Booklet. You'll also get a notification email from us with their information.
Setting it up is easier than you might imagine. Review the how-to section below and, as always, reach out to us if you have any questions.
Here's what to do for METHOD #1
- Visit the “Blog Settings" page and scroll down until you see Generate CMA leads from articles.
- Turn on the Generate CMA leads toggle. (if you haven’t already)
- Now when you share an article, a CMA button will display in the top heading of your blog site.
- Pro Tip #1: Once you turn on the toggle, you'll notice we provide a link in case you want to send your audience to your CMA form directly.
- Pro Tip #2: If you prefer using a third party CMA form, enter its URL in the field at the bottom of the Generate CMA Leads section. This way your visitors will be directed to your outside CMA form when they click the same button at the top of your blog site.
Here's what to do for METHOD #2
Part 1 - Preparing your booklet
- Learn how to offer your Booklets on the articles you share by watching this video in the group (just after the 8 minute mark). Keep in mind the site has been redesigned since this video was made, but the instructions will still convey.
- Then visit the Booklet section in your account. Choose a Booklet and customize it to your liking. Important: Almost every booklet requires small edits in specific chapters.
- Once your Booklet is ready, click on “Lead Gen” in the left-hand menu. Once the page opens, click on "Article Opt-in Forms" from the on-page menu.
- Once the section appears, toggle 'on' the switch labeled, "Offer this booklet on articles you share".
- (Recommended) Customize the 'Thank You' email that will be sent to your prospects who request this booklet.
Part 2 - Adding your booklet in an article
- Now, find an article to share and open it up.
- Once the article opens, look for the “Lead Gen” button above the article and toggle it 'on'.
A dropdown menu will appear. Select the Booklet you like to offer from the drop down list.
- Once you do that, scroll down to the bottom of the article to see it if you want. That's it. When you share the article, your audience will be able to request the booklet.
